July 4 Festivities at Brookland Retreat Center

Brookland Retreat Center invites the whole diocese to celebrate Saturday, July 4, 2026 — the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence — with an Open House and a full day of activities. All are welcome.

Schedule of Activities

• 9:00 a.m. – Open House: free tours, coffee, snacks, and refreshments in the Retreat House.
• 12:00 Noon – Noon Prayers in All Saints Chapel with the Reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by ringing the tower bell 25 times (one for each decade).
• Afternoon – Cold drinks and snacks in the Retreat House and tours of All Saints Chapel.
• 5:00 p.m. – Evening Prayer in All Saints Chapel, using the text from the 1789 Book of Common Prayer.
• 6:00 p.m. – Hot dogs, baked beans, snacks, refreshments, and homemade ice cream in the Retreat House.
• 7:30 p.m. – S’mores at the fire pit (weather permitting).
