Bishops in Residence: Bishop Nichols Visits the Northeast Region

This year, each bishop will spend three days in residence in each of the four regions of the diocese. The Canon Missioner for that region will coordinate these visit, planning time for the bishop to worship and fellowship with the members of this region. Activities may include a gathering of lay leaders, meetings with clergy, visits to places of interest in the region, and opportunities for recreation. Bishop Nichols will visit the Northeast Region August 11-13. His schedule includes these public and semi-public gatherings:

• Noon: Lunch at Bingham’s Family Restaurant, 6092 PA-92 (just off of I-81 north of Scranton) in Kingsley. Seating is limited to 16 with preference given to lay leaders. Please RSVP to Canon Melinda Artman by August 4. Please be prepared to pay for your own lunch.
• 2:45-4:15 p.m.: In-person appointment times available with Bishop Kevin in the parlor at the Church of the Redeemer, Sayre.
• 5:30 p.m.: Dinner at Yanuzzi’s Restaurant, Desmond Street, Sayre for lay and clergy leaders in the convocation. Please RSVP to Canon Melinda Artman by August 4.

• 11 a.m.: Worship and box lunch at the Church of the Redeemer, Sayre.
• 12:30 p.m.: Clergy, clergy spouses, and lay leaders who have RSVP’d by August 4 to Canon Melinda will depart for Seneca Lake wineries in search of the perfect Communion wine. We anticipate visiting three wineries. Seating is limited to 20. Each tasting has a modest cost.
• 5 p.m.: Return to Sayre, with optional dinner on the way back or in Sayre.
