Bishops in Residence: Bishop Scanlan Visits the Southeast Region

This year, each bishop will spend three days in residence in each of the four regions of the diocese. The Canon Missioner for that region will coordinate these visits, planning time for the bishop to worship and fellowship with the members of this region. Activities may include a gathering of lay leaders, meetings with clergy, visits to places of interest in the region, and opportunities for recreation. This month, Bishop Audrey Scanlan will visit the Southeast Region June 9-11. The schedule includes both planned gatherings with various communities and ministries as well as more public events (noted in bold below):

Tuesday, June 9

• 12-2 p.m. — Taste of Easton Welcome Lunch at Trinity, Easton. All are invited to join this luncheon featuring eateries with a long history in Easton. RSVP to the Rev. Canon Barbara Harrison Seward if you plan to attend.
• 2:30-3 p.m. — Tour of Lehigh Valley. Following lunch, join Father Dale Grandfield for a tour of Lehigh Valley.
• 5-7 p.m. — Dinner with the lay leaders and parishioners of St. Andrew’s, Allentown.

Wednesday, June 10

• 9-10 a.m. — Holy Eucharist & Healing at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem. 
• 10:30 a.m.-noon — Bishop Scanlan gathers with members of Trinity, Bethlehem at the Nativity Cathedral, and will go to Trinity to tour their recent renovations.
• 1:30-3 p.m. — Bishop Scanlan gathers with lay leaders from the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem.
• 5-7 p.m. — Bishop Scanlan joins the youth group of St. George’s, Hellertown, for dinner and Evening Prayer.

Thursday, June 11

• 9-9:30 a.m. — Morning Prayer at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem. 
• 11 a.m.-noon — Bishop Scanlan joins St. Barnabas Center, Kutztown, for a conversation about their ministry. Open to all.
