Exciting news! The Diocese of the Susquehanna will welcome a pastoral visit from the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, the Most Reverend Sean W. Rowe, on October 16-17, 2026.
A pastoral visit by the Presiding Bishop is a significant event during which we can share the ministry of our diocese with the leader of our denomination and its chief pastor, and have an opportunity to engage in conversation and worship together. Bishop Rowe is well known to many in Pennsylvania, having served as the Bishop Diocesan in Northwest Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2024, and as Bishop Provisional in the Diocese of Bethlehem from 2014 to 2018.
Because the Presiding Bishop’s visit coincides with the weekend previously reserved for the Diocesan Convention, plans for Convention have been adjusted. The diocesan business meeting will now be held online via Zoom on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon. Clergy and lay delegates will receive additional details in the coming months regarding this important meeting.
All members of the diocese are invited to participate in the October 16-17 weekend with Presiding Bishop Rowe. While October is quite far out at this point, tentative plans include a banquet on Friday evening, October 16, featuring a program reflecting on the early work of the new diocese; and a large diocesan worship service on Saturday, October 17, with Bishop Rowe presiding and preaching.
These events will likely take place in the Harrisburg area, with hotel room blocks made available for those traveling from outside the region. Further details will be shared as plans are finalized.
