Chaplaincy Consultation and Reflection Group
Isolation is a danger in all contexts of ministry. We who are engaged in ministry know that. Chaplains can be at even greater risk. Even when we are part of a larger institution, we may be the only chaplain, the only Episcopal chaplain, or one of very few people who understand the particular demands of this ministry. We need spaces where chaplains can speak with colleagues and friends who understand the work, reflect together on its challenges and possibilities, and draw strength from the wisdom and experience of one another.
A community of practice and consultation group specifically for those engaged in the work of chaplaincy is forming to provide that space. The group will bring together chaplains for case consultation, theological and professional reflection, resource-sharing, and mutual support. Together, we will consider the real situations we encounter in ministry, learn from one another’s experience, and explore the practices that sustain us. This will be a peer community, not a formal supervisory group, and chaplains serving in all settings and at every stage of ministry are welcome. The primary goal is to leave chaplains feeling encouraged and connected.
The group meets via Zoom on the second Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. from October 8, 2026 through September 9, 2027.
If you would like to participate or if you have questions, please contact Tyler Parry at [email protected].
RSVP/registration deadline: October 7, 2026.
